Seattle-based retailer Nordstrom, Inc. recently announced plans to open a new Nordstrom Rack location. The new store will be part of the Gardiner Manor Mall in the South Shore area of Long Island and will incorporate roughly 24,000 square feet of Bay Shore retail space. Opening is slated for Q1 2024.

“We look forward to opening this new Nordstrom Rack location in Bay Shore, strengthening our network of stores, and introducing new customers to Nordstrom Rack’s unique product offering,” said Carl Jenkins, senior VP of Nordstrom Rack Stores. “In addition to shopping great brands at great prices, our customers in Bay Shore can take full advantage of this convenient new location to pick up online orders and make returns.”

On Long Island, Nordstrom operates two other Rack stores at The Gallery at Westbury Plaza in Garden City and Manhasset Center. With this new location, Nordstrom’s operations in New York state will include 12 Nordstrom Rack stores, three Nordstrom stores, and two Nordstrom Locals.

Owned and managed by Kite Realty Group Trust, Gardiner Manor Mall incorporates nearly 219,000 square feet of Long Island retail space and is ideally located just east of the Robert Moses Causeway in Bay Shore, N.Y., off the Sunrise Highway — Long Island’s primary east/west artery that connects New York’s outer boroughs to The Hamptons.

Other retailers at the popular Long Island shopping center include HomeGoods; Barnes & Noble; Michaels; and Old Navy. Nordstrom’s new Rack store will reportedly open in the space that office supply store Staples will vacate in January 2024.
