Ernst & Young to Move Las Vegas HQ from The Strip to UnCommons
Real estate developer Matter Real Estate Group recently announced that it had added another big-name tenant to the upcoming phase two of its UnCommons project in Las Vegas: Global professional services network Ernst & Young (EY) will join the mixed-use community upon completion of the project’s second phase, which is estimated to be finished in May 2024. Specifically, EY will be relocating its headquarters to roughly 7,200 square feet of class A, southwest Las Vegas office space in a new building on Rozita Lee Avenue. The firm’s neighbors will include DraftKings, Morgan Stanley, and CBRE.
“At UnCommons, we’re rewriting the playbook on work environments, and Ernst & Young’s commitment to their employees and clients fits right into this transformative ethos,” said Tom van Betten, vice president of strategic partnerships at Matter Real Estate Group. “Ernst & Young shares the outstanding spirit of leadership and strives to be the solution in providing the ideal workplace experience.”
Phase two of the 40-acre UnCommons development includes two four-story office buildings that incorporate about 180,000 square feet. Their completion next year will bring the project’s office component to more than 350,000 square feet of modern Las Vegas office space. Designed by Gensler, the buildings feature connected patio balconies, expansive communal areas, seamless connectivity, and a rich variety of on-site amenities that seek to collectively make for an unmatched workplace.
UnCommons is the first development of its kind in Nevada that was built to WELL™ Certification — the highest third-party endorsement of a building’s performance and protection of employee health. Notable features include near-hospital-quality HVAC systems; operable windows and patios; touch-free access; abundant natural daylight; and interior finishes made with materials that help limit the spread of bacteria.
Additionally, The Assembly is an innovative, 5,000-square-foot conference center and event pavilion that offers a next-gen, high-tech setting for meetings, events, and collaboration with full, on-site catering. Meanwhile, lifestyle and dining options include The Sundry by Michael Mina, a newly opened and distinctive food hall experience; AMARI Italian Kitchen & Wine Shop; Sunlife Organics; Urth Caffe; Salt & Straw; and many more.
Notably, the $850 million project was designed to fulfill what the developers considered to be modern workforce desires — a workplace that enhances workers’ lives through rich amenities, open space, and connectivity. Ultimately, the urban campus will incorporate more than 500,000 square feet of modern office space; more than 830 residential units; trendsetting restaurants and cafes; health and fitness studios; a multipurpose conference center; a pedestrian trail; public art; and a food hall showcasing the best of the local food scene.
