Comstock Inks Office Lease with Securiport at Reston Station
Comstock Holding Companies, Inc. (Comstock) recently announced the signing of a new office lease at its Reston Station development. The tenant — civil aviation and border security firm Securiport — will be relocating from its headquarters at the Flour Mill Building in Washington, D.C. to a Dulles Corridor office tower in Fairfax County.
“After 20 years in Washington D.C., although it was a hard decision, we are excited to move our headquarters to Reston Station,” said Dr. Enrique Segura, president and CEO of Securiport. “Securiport is a rapidly growing company that invests in new and proprietary technologies, and this new location will provide our team with an upscaled environment to showcase our solutions. We are thrilled to join the growing roster of big tech companies that have chosen Reston Station.”
Securiport’s longtime headquarters location was the Flour Mill Building at 1000 Potomac St. NW in Georgetown. The historic property was originally an industrial building completed in the 1840s and was later converted through adaptive reuse in the 1980s. The company has had a presence there since its founding in 2001.
While its future headquarters space is being built out, Securiport will immediately relocate into existing the Reston Station space at 11480 Commerce Park Drive on a temporary basis. The lease recently signed with Comstock includes 24,800 square feet of Reston office space at 1900 Reston Metro Plaza, where the tenant roster also includes data analytics company Babel Street, wealth management firm Cresset, and podcast platform Megaphone.
The Reston Station development spans 80 acres along the Dulles Toll Road and surrounding the Wiehle-Reston East Metro station. The multi-tenant office campus continues to expand rapidly and attract new tenants with a selection of world-class, amenity-rich buildings. Construction of phase two is currently underway with the first deliveries expected to take place in 2024.
Since completing the first office building here in 2019, Comstock has leased more than 1 million square feet of trophy and Class A, suburban Washington, D.C. office space throughout Reston Station. Other tenants in the technology and security industries here include Google, ICF International, Spotify, and Qualtrics International.
“We are thrilled to welcome Securiport to northern Virginia and Reston Station,” said Timothy Steffan, CEO of Comstock. “As we grow Reston Station into the region’s largest and most dynamic mixed-use development, we will continue to attract office tenants to the Dulles Corridor by providing new dining, entertainment, fitness, and experiential retail opportunities in our expanding urban neighborhood.”
