Previously the headquarters of Hibernia National Bank, at the time it was completed in 1921, it was the tallest building in the state of Louisiana. In 1932, the state capitol took that title. In 2006, Hibernia Bank moved its offices, the retail bank in the lobby (now Capital One) remains in in service. The property has since been converted to a mixed use historic tower with retail on the ground floor and office space on floors two through three. The white tower atop the building remains a familiar part of the skyline.
