About 192 Broadway

Called the Corbin Building, this historic property was designed by renowned architect Francis H. Kimball and was completed in 1889. The building has a corner location in New York's Lower Manhattan at 192 Broadway. There are many square feet of rentable office space in this 9-story structure.

Facing Broadway, this mixed-use structure features a mere 20 feet of street frontage; however, upon rounding the corner onto John Street, the building stretches an impressive 161 feet. Because of this, the property is most commonly referred to as 11 John Street.

Ornate details fill the units within 192 Broadway, though the highlight of the property is the semi-circular staircase. This area of the building is completely filled with natural light and features copper-plated cast iron adornment. Other details of yesteryear include fireplaces, marble wainscoting, wood paneling and high ceilings.

All of the spaces within the structure are being fully restored, while modern additions are being added to make the spaces convenient for 21st-century tenants. One of the goals of the renovation is to return the lobby to its 1917 glory and to leave original details, such as the boiler, exposed for passers through to see.

Terracotta panels cover the facade of 192 Broadway and alternate with multi-hued sandstone to give the building a standout look. Ornate hand-carved accents are found on the exterior of the structure, and there are pyramidal peaks at each end.
