About 281 Summer St

We are located at 281 Summer Street in the historic Fort Point Channel district of Boston.

For much of the 19th century and well into the 20th, Fort Point was a thriving hub of industry connected to the greater economy by the working waterways and railways that still act as the natural boundaries of Fort Point. Today, Fort Point is part of the renaissance of the Boston waterfront, sitting squarely within the Innovation District the future hub of the emerging creative economy in Boston.

We at Space with a Soul are inspired by the chance to connect with Boston’s past while helping invent our future.

Our space occupies 20,000 square feet in an eight story brick building constructed at the turn of the 20th century to store wool. Today, our office and meeting space is brilliantly designed with natural light and operational windows. Vibrant community spaces and an open floor plan highlight our dedication to going beyond simple workspace – we’re building a community of thought and action.

We believe that, while our space has a great personality and is a great office space in and of itself, it is the people who populate and animate the space that are most important to the success of our mission. It is ultimately the users that create the community and enliven the space.

Any organization that is energized by being around others who share a common goal of creating positive social change will find a home at Space with a Soul.
