Ripple Coworking recently announced the opening of its newest coworking space. Highly appreciated by entrepreneurs in the Volusia-Flagler area, Ripple Coworking expands from Flagler Beach to Daytona Beach, Fla. The new coworking hub incorporates 25,000 square feet of space and is located in the historic Daytona Beach News-Journal Building on Orange Avenue.

Originally completed in the early 1900s, the low-rise building at 128 Orange Ave. underwent a cosmetic renovation program in 2021. The property served as headquarters for the original Daytona Daily News-Journal for more than 40 years. Since then, it has also been home to the Halifax Historical Society, as well as several law and legal aid firms.

Ripple co-owner Stephen Furnari expressed great respect for the storied history of the new Daytona coworking space location.

“The building required substantial modernization,” Furnari said. “But, it was important for us to preserve the historic charm of the building, while also including the kinds of modern finishes that today’s professionals expect.”

During the building renovation, a 10-foot square vault made with two-foot-thick concrete was removed to make room for Ripple’s new reception area. The new coworking hub includes a 4,000-square-foot community lounge with a café and meeting area; on-site self-storage; more than 70 furnished offices; four conference rooms; and a dedicated area for light medical businesses, such as chiropractors, massage therapists, and psychologists.

“There are lots of Daytona-area professionals who have been working from home since the start of the COVID pandemic, and they are realizing that with pets, kids, and spouses around, it can be hard to focus,” Furnari said. “Our members are seeing big improvements in efficiency working from a distraction-free office, even for just a few days a week.”

Ripple Coworking in downtown Daytona Beach is the firm’s second coworking space in the Volusia-Flagler area. The first to open — an oceanfront location in Flagler Beach — has been operating successfully since 2017. The current expansion aims to reach and serve entrepreneurs and remote workers from Daytona, Ormond Beach, Port Orange, and Deland.
