AerCap — the largest aviation leasing company in the world — will set up its new U.S. headquarters in Miami’s Brickell financial district: The company recently signed a full-floor lease totaling 20,000 square feet of Miami office space in 830 Brickell — a new, Class A+ office tower slated for completion later this year. The tower is being developed by a partnership between OKO Group and Cain International.

The Dublin-based AerCap will occupy the property’s 50th floor, with the new office set to house 50 employees. While the lease rate was not disclosed, asking rents within the property are reportedly around $100 per square foot — among the highest in the city. The owners of 830 Brickell were represented by Brian Gale, Ryan Holtzman and Andrew Trench of Cushman & Wakefield, while Scott Goldstein and Keith Edelman of CBRE represented the tenant.

The trophy property’s stand-out look was envisioned by architecture firm Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill, while the interior was designed by Italian company Iosa Ghini Associati. It will total 640,000 square feet across 55 floors and offer a wide range of top-shelf amenities, including a rooftop lounge and restaurant; a high-end health and wellness center; 24-hour concierge service; an outdoor terrace; street-level retail spaces; and breathtaking views of Biscayne Bay. Its prime location also places it within reach of multiple transit options in Miami, as well as some of the metro’s top residential, entertainment and fashion districts. With the new lease, Brickell solidifies itself as one of the most sought-after areas for trophy office space in Miami.

“We are thrilled to be relocating our Americas regional headquarters to the premier office building in the rapidly growing business hub in Brickell,” said Bashir Hajjar, senior vice president and head of Americas for AerCap. “Miami offers a business-friendly environment, easy accessibility to our customers in both North and South America, as well as the amenities that attract the best talent.”

The company — which also operates office spaces in Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Singapore and Abu Dhabi — now joins a star-studded roster that also features Microsoft; private equity firm Thoma Bravo; and CI Financial, the largest investment management firm in Canada. AerCap’s lease announcement comes just one week after CI Financial announced that it had doubled down on 830 Brickell, increasing the size of its initial lease to nearly 40,000 square feet of office space across two full floors.

“We are excited by AerCap’s decision to make 830 Brickell its new U.S. headquarters,” said Vlad Doronin, chairman and CEO of OKO Group, and Jonathan Goldstein, CEO of Cain International. “The building’s recent leasing momentum is a reflection of the tower’s high-quality workplace experience, as well as the undeniable desirability of the South Florida market. Attracting a global company like AerCap is precisely what we envisioned when we decided to develop this best-in-class office tower in the Brickell Financial District. We’re more confident than ever that our hospitality-infused, amenity-rich approach will continue to drive office leasing.”
