Today San Ramon is a vibrant city. It is considered as one of California’s outstanding urban villages. With only a population of 100 in 1966, thanks to the efforts of Western Electric, today’s population of San Ramon has grown to almost 74,000. The city is growing itself. Its plan to expand the downtown by 40 acres will bring culture to the small city. New developments that include a public plaza, hotel, independent cinema, city hall, library, transit center, and office spaces will surely serve businesses and residents well.

While a little farther from the center, the area promises to be an industrial center of San Ramon.
